BACKGROUND |
|
|
AIC Corporation Berhad ("AIC") was incorporated on March 6, 1990
under the name Autoindustries Corporation Sdn.
Bhd. AIC was listed on
the Second Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") on December 14, 1994
and assumed its present name on April 1997 to reflect
its diversification from the automotive industry. AIC’s
listing was then transferred to the Main Board of
the Bursa Securities in July 2000 to better reflect its capital base and financial performance.
The Main Board and Second Board have since August
2009 been unified as the Main Market.
Starting as an automotive parts manufacturer, AIC
diversified into the semiconductor, plastics,
precision metal and information technology
industries between 1995 to 1998 through acquisitions
of companies and joint ventures into new businesses.
AIC had since 2006 embarked on a restructuring that
involved divesting its non-core business and is now
focussed on its semiconductor business.
AIC’s vision is “Leading Malaysia In Technology”. We
aspire to be a leading company providing
cutting-edge technology and solutions, including
higher value-added design and engineering services
to high-tech industries.
The semiconductor business is represented by AIC
Semiconductor Sdn Bhd (“AICS”) (www.aicsemicon.com)
whereas the precision tooling and automation
business is represented by Prodelcon Sdn Bhd (“Prodelcon”)
(www.psb.com.my).
AICS provides the following one-stop solution
services:
- Package design and development;
- Engineering and test development;
- Packaging, assembly and test of integrated circuit chips/smart card modules; and
- Drop-shipment and distribution centre services.
Prodelcon’s principal activities are:
- manufacturing and provision of high precision machining services for the components of photonics and microwaves transmissions;
- manufacturing of high precision tooling, mould and die sets; and
- the design and manufacturing of turnkey automation systems.
AIC considers
the employees as its greatest asset and with each
member consolidating their resources, knowledge
and ingenuity towards technological advancement
and customer satisfaction of our products and
services, we are confident in achieving our
aspiration to become one of Malaysia's most
enterprising and progressive
companies.
